MISSION
"First Clapper" strives to act as a facilitator, helping new and extremely young artists to make their film debut and turning creative ideas into high-quality artistic products.
In order to achieve this goal, the creative potential of such ideas is to be protected with the utmost care and caution, and be further developed by a comprehensive team of experienced and technically competent experts who are currently employed in the film-making industry.
In "First Clapper", just as in the world of cinema, the flight of imagination meets gravity – in such a way that the two augment in unity to surprise audience.
In "First Clapper," the energy and courage of young talent meets the experienced and balanced view of longtime professionals – in such a way that they complement each other and allow young filmmakers to take bold, massive strides, while provoking experienced filmmakers by introducing them to new ideas and the urge to experiment.
In "First Clapper", the process of developing a film project from the very start to its absolute completion provides the high quality of the finished product, thereby proving the merit of the taken approach.
"First Clapper" brings together experienced and relatively inexperienced artists, "creators" and "technicians", young and old filmmakers, but mostly – conscientious and open-minded individuals capable not only of letting their imagination run wild, but also of solving difficult problems as they arise.
"First Clapper" aims to create films which tell a story that impact the audience with their creative style.
"First Clapper" is not interested in projects aiming for pompous avant-garde or high-brow pretentiousness accessible to a select few, or perhaps only to their creators themselves.
"First Clapper" seeks to produce only feature films, as opposed to short films, since the company believes that artists and filmmakers learn their craft and reach their full potential by overcoming the entire long and arduous process of creating a feature film in such a way that they don't lose sight of their ideas and their sense of self along the way. Making films is a marathon, not a sprint.
"First Clapper" is neither a school nor some other kind of institution; "First Clapper" is a project-based platform providing opportunity to promising talents to collaborate and create their debut film, irrespective whether they have graduated from certain educational institutions or not.
"First Clapper" is not an organization subsidized by designated funding. The funds channeled into the creation of its first project must be offset by its earnings in order to support the next project, and so forth in perpetuity. The speed and scale of these activities depend on the reliable quality of the projects themselves, as well as the willingness of various concerned parties to support such a cause.
